Nursing mothers step up thanks to UU nurse midwife in Michigan

CNN has a wonderful story today, 12/01/09, about how nursing moms step up to help when infant's mother dies.

And it started apparently, by a nurse midwife and nursing mother from a Unitarian Universalist church!

"Carrie Fiocchi, 29, was first to breast-feed Moses. She'd received a call from a nurse midwife who belonged to her Unitarian Universalist church."

I am so proud to be a Unitarian Universalist today.

While I've been thinking a lot about war and whether UU should become a peace church or a "just war" church, I read a story like this.

(Tom, maybe nursing mothers will save the world. Look how they step up!)

Warms my heart. You can read it too, if you click here.
