How do you come at life?

"Some people are raised on a hill, others in the valley. Most of us are brought up on the flat. I came at life at an angle, and that's how I've lived ever since."

Jeanette Winterson, Lighthousekeeping, p. 5

People who live spiritual lives always come at them from an angle. There is no such thing as the smugness of convention or the security of the status quo. There is always the possibility of the unknown which must be managed with great faith.

Unitarian Universalism calls people to a free and responsible search for truth and meaning. This often takes us to strange and uncomfortable places. Unitarian Universalism taken seriously should scare you because if followed authentically it will take you out of your comfort zone.
