Question of the day

What happens to our relationships when someone dies? How can we continue a connection?

  1. In Narrative Therapy, the question is how do we "re-member" the lost person back into our lives? We can do this by a visit to the cemetary, lighting a candle, making a memorial contribution in the person's name, telling a story about them, listening to their favorite song, cooking their favorite meal, using a skill they taught us, etc.

  2. I love Marlin Lavenhar's sermon on the Day of the Dead when he refers to the "Mighty Cloud Of Witnesses."

  4. My therapist told me that the physical body dies but the person's spirit lives on in the stories we tell about him and her. This idea made me feel a lot better.
